James "Jimmer" Doherty

10 years
Marijuana Conspiracy

My name is Jimmer. I was imprisoned on a ten year federal sentence for what was a minor role in a marijuana grow. The organizer became an informant and served no time in prison.

I am 49 years old, married and have five children and one grandchild. It is a 4,000 mile round trip for my impoverished family to visit, so I won't receive them often.

I will have completed my sentence in the year 2007, having missed out being with my children during their formative years. Before my arrest, I had never been in trouble with the law. My views have not changed on the morality of our legislation - I am now positive that the worst effect of this herb is the war we wage upon it.
