On Sunday April 5, the November Coalition was honored at the
Unitarian
Universalist Fellowship in Laguna Beach, CA for its accomplishments
in working to end the war on drugs. There was a great mix of
people and speakers. The main speaker was Stephen Gutwillig, California
State Director for Drug
Policy Alliance Network. The event leader was a retired police
officer who had worked for LAPD for 25 years and is working to
end the war on drugs.
November Coalition was honored during the service and had a table
with information and displays set up outside. We also participated
in a discussion group. The questions from participants reflected
the society's fear that legalizing or regulating drugs like alcohol
will "destroy the minds of our youth". We provided
much information to dispel the ignorance. It was a
very successful event.
